Susy Thomas: Bringing Athlete’s Discipline to Client-Centered Planning

Company:

Allworth Financial

Former Texas A&M golfer helps families build clarity, confidence, and l-t financial peace of mind

As a Partner Advisor and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER in Allworth Financial’s Denton, Texas office, Susy Thomas channels the same focus and discipline that defined her collegiate golf career into helping clients pursue financial security and purpose. Previously a vice president at Denton-based Grunden Financial Advisory, Inc., which partnered with Allworth in 2026, she brings deep local roots and continuity to the relationships she serves.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Susy studied business, communication, and economics while competing as a two-year letterwinner on the women’s golf team. After more than 15 years devoted to the sport—practicing, analyzing, and constantly pushing to improve—she now applies that mindset to wealth planning. To her, advising is a lot like being part of a great team: it is about character, commitment, and helping others reach their goals.

Susy’s process begins with what matters most to each client: their values, priorities, key relationships, and the kind of support they want. From that foundation, she builds a personalized financial plan designed to serve as both a roadmap and a framework for future decisions—the first chapter in a long-term journey together.

Throughout the relationship, clients can expect honesty, consistency, and a high level of care. Susy follows through on commitments, communicates with transparency, and strives to serve people the way she would want to be served—thoughtfully, proactively, and with their best interests at the center.

She finds it especially rewarding to help clients move from uncertainty to clarity. Partnering with them to create a plan that reduces anxiety and provides direction is what drives her every day. When clients feel confident about their next steps, Susy knows they are on the right path.
