Joseph Spina: Bridging Institutional Research and Private Wealth Advice
VP leverages private markets expertise to enhance client portfolios
As a Vice President and Financial Advisor at Northeast Private Wealth Management, Joseph Spina centers his work on understanding each client’s goals, constraints, and values before building a plan. He focuses on designing tailored financial strategies that translate those priorities into actionable portfolios and long-term roadmaps, rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions. Alongside his advisory responsibilities, Joseph contributes to the firm’s Investment Team, with a particular emphasis on alternative offerings and differentiated strategies that can complement traditional allocations.
Joseph brings a deep institutional background to his role. Before joining Northeast, he spent seven years in investment management as a Regional Investment Consultant with BNY Mellon Investment Management. There, he advised Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors on the economic and market landscape and on BNY’s broad menu of solutions, including mutual funds, separately managed accounts, private equity, and private credit deals. That experience now informs how he evaluates strategies and structures portfolios for private clients.
A graduate of the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Joseph later earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation through the Yale School of Management and is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute. He holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses.
Outside the office, Joseph is actively involved with causes close to his heart, including the Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund and the Alzheimer’s Association. He stays engaged and active through golf, skiing, and participating in charity runs and events that support these organizations.
