Lucas Mijares: Putting Values at the Center of Wealth Planning

Company:

Zion Capital

Founder and wealth advisor serves “everyday families” with fiduciary advice grounded in faith, discipline, and deep listening

Since entering the financial industry in 2013 as a life insurance agent in Southern California, Lucas Mijares, Founder and Wealth Advisor at Zion Capital, has built a career rooted in service, discipline, and faith. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Interpersonal Communication with a minor in Biblical Studies from Biola University, he and his wife, Becca, moved to Northern California, where he developed a thriving advisory practice at Edward Jones. Along the way, he earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designations in 2016, followed by the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification in 2019—credentials that elevated both his technical capabilities and client impact. In 2022, he was invited to participate in the Forbes SHOOK Top Next‑Gen Advisor Summit, a recognition of his rising influence in the profession.

Outside the office, Lucas is deeply involved at Calvary Bible in Grass Valley. After teaching himself guitar and gaining the confidence to sing publicly, he launched a local “Church Without a Building” event and now serves on the church worship team. He is also an avid athlete, competing in HYROX events and ultramarathons, and brings that same coaching mindset to youth sports as a frequent head coach for his sons’ baseball, basketball, and soccer teams—using sports as a platform to teach character, work ethic, and leadership.

At Zion Capital, Lucas’s passion for people drives his approach to wealth management. He believes every client has a story and makes listening the foundation of each relationship. He and his team focus on delivering tailored, fiduciary advice and comprehensive financial plans, with clients’ best interests at the center of every decision. Guided by his personal priorities—“Faith, Family, Business. And in that order!”—Lucas aims to help families pursue financial success in a way that aligns with their values and long-term purpose.
