Julian Locke: Expanding Industry Access Through Mentorship

Company:

Perennial Financial Services

Hands-on leadership strengthens diversity and advisor development pipeline

Julian Locke, senior vice president at Perennial Financial Services, is emerging as a next-generation leader by expanding access to the profession while driving innovation across the firm’s advisory platform.

Locke has made a tangible impact through her commitment to mentorship and advisor development. She provides daily guidance to peers and is building a scalable model aimed at attracting and developing new professionals within wealth management. Her leadership extends into firmwide initiatives, where she has contributed ideas that enhance advisor experience and operational equity, including website improvements designed to better balance visibility across the organization.

Beyond her formal role, Locke works closely with senior leadership to refine onboarding systems, marketing support and digital engagement strategies—helping position the firm for long-term, sustainable growth.

Her influence extends beyond the office. Locke leads Kindred Financial Women, a Twin Cities-based network for female financial planners, where she organizes quarterly meetings to foster collaboration and professional development. She is also active in community outreach, supporting immigrant and student groups and promoting greater access to financial education.

Locke’s impact on the industry pipeline is particularly notable. She has personally recruited more than 25 individuals into the profession and mentored an estimated 50 to 60 early-career advisors, many of whom are women and people of color. Through hands-on coaching and consistent support, she is helping build a more inclusive and representative advisory workforce.
