Jessica Shill: Bringing CLO ETFs Mainstream and Redefining Credit Investing

Company:

Janus Henderson Investors

Jessica Shill serves as Portfolio Manager on the Securitised Credit Team at Janus Henderson Investors, where she oversees CLO-focused funds and helps lead the firm’s structured-credit strategy. She joined Janus Henderson in 2019 as an analyst and rose through the ranks — to associate portfolio manager in 2020, and full portfolio manager in 2023.

Under her leadership, Janus Henderson’s securitized-credit franchise has expanded with the launch and management of key funds including the AAA CLO ETF and B-BBB CLO ETF — bringing traditionally institutional-only collateralized loan obligation exposures into more accessible vehicle structures.

In 2025, she authored timely research for institutional investors exploring how CLO funds respond to a changing interest-rate environment, providing clarity around yield, volatility resilience, and structural safeguards critical for navigating macro risks.

Shill is being honored with the Connect Money Next Generation Alternative Investment Award for her forward-thinking work in democratizing alternative credit strategies. By blending rigorous structuring, transparent fund design, and educational thought leadership, she’s helping reshape how advisors and investors think about non-traditional fixed income. Her efforts widen access to alternative credit, improve market liquidity, and support structurally sound, yield-sensitive investment solutions — qualities that define the next generation of alternative-investment leadership.
