Vankayalapati Targets Tech Companies Powering the Financial Economy
VP brings European fintech transaction experience to the firm’s growth and buyout investment team
Swathi Vankayalapati’s investment career centers on the intersection of technology and financial services. As a vice president on Motive Partners’ Growth & Buyout Investment Team, she helps identify, evaluate and execute investments in technology companies that enable the financial economy.
Vankayalapati joined Motive in 2020. Her responsibilities span sourcing potential investments, analyzing opportunities and supporting execution, placing her across several stages of the firm’s investment process.
The role combines finding companies for consideration with assessing those opportunities and advancing transactions. Her focus is on businesses whose technology supports financial activity, connecting company-level analysis with the broader role those businesses play in the financial economy.
Before joining Motive, Vankayalapati worked as an analyst in Credit Suisse’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications Group in London.
At Credit Suisse, she participated in mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions across Europe, primarily within financial technology. That experience provided a transaction-focused foundation for her subsequent work in private market investing.
Her background links two perspectives on financial technology: advising on corporate transactions and evaluating companies for investment. The continuity between those roles is her concentration on technology businesses connected to financial services.
The European scope of her Credit Suisse work also forms part of the experience she brings to Motive’s investment team. Her assignments involved both M&A and financing, encompassing different ways companies pursue strategic objectives and access capital.
Vankayalapati earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Warwick, graduating with honors.
Her academic training and early transaction experience underpin a career that has remained focused on financial technology. At Motive, that focus now extends across the sourcing, analysis and execution responsibilities of the Growth & Buyout Investment Team.
Her professional trajectory reflects a consistent sector emphasis, moving from European fintech transactions into investing in companies that provide technology for the financial economy.
