Robinson Combines Financial Services Investing With Mental Health Advocacy
RedBird principal focuses on growth capital in financial services and fintech
Matt Robinson’s career spans financial services investing and nonprofit leadership. As a principal at RedBird Capital Partners, he focuses on growth capital investments across financial services and fintech, drawing on experience in transaction execution and portfolio oversight.
Before joining RedBird, Robinson was a vice president at Milestone Partners, where he worked on growth equity and control buyout investments in financial services.
His responsibilities included sourcing deals, executing transactions, overseeing portfolio companies and supporting capital markets activities. That work concentrated primarily on insurance, warranty and specialty finance businesses, giving him experience across several distinct segments of the sector.
The role covered multiple stages of an investment, from identifying opportunities through transaction execution and ongoing portfolio oversight. His capital markets responsibilities added another dimension to that work, alongside the evaluation and management of investments.
At RedBird, Robinson’s focus encompasses both financial services and fintech. His current responsibilities center on growth capital, extending the sector experience developed during his time at Milestone.
Outside his investment role, Robinson founded and chairs the Young Professionals Board at Minding Your Mind, a position he has held since 2019.
Minding Your Mind is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on reducing the stigma and destructive behaviors associated with mental health. Robinson’s board leadership provides a separate avenue for contributing beyond his professional investment responsibilities.
His involvement brings together his role as an investment professional and a sustained commitment to the nonprofit’s mental health mission.
Robinson earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame.
Across his professional and community work, his responsibilities combine evaluating and supporting financial services investments with leadership in an organization seeking to address mental health stigma and associated behaviors.
