Principal, CIO guides acquisitions at the Wisconsin-based private real estate firm

Daniel Price brings more than a decade of rental housing investment experience to his leadership role at MLG, where he guides acquisitions and helps build diversified real estate funds for investors.

As principal and chief investment officer, Price provides direction to the acquisition team and serves on the firm’s investment and operating committees. His responsibilities connect investment decisions with the broader management of the business.

Since joining MLG in 2020, Price has focused on leading investment efforts across the Midwest. That regional emphasis builds on experience evaluating and acquiring multifamily properties throughout the United States.

Before MLG, Price spent more than 10 years in Chicago with real estate investment firms Waterton and Waypoint. At both companies, he concentrated on rental housing and participated in acquisitions totaling more than $3 billion in multifamily assets.

That transaction figure reflects acquisitions in which he was involved, rather than assets attributed solely to his leadership or currently under his management.

His experience extends across the property investment lifecycle, including sourcing opportunities, negotiating terms, conducting due diligence, arranging financing and closing transactions. He has also worked on asset management and dispositions, providing perspective on operating properties and ultimately exiting investments.

At MLG, that background informs his guidance to the acquisition team and his contribution to portfolio construction. His role combines assessing individual properties with considering how investments fit within the firm’s real estate funds.

Price graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with degrees in real estate and finance.

He is an active member of the National Multifamily Housing Council, Urban Land Institute and Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, maintaining connections across the property investment profession.

Outside work, Price spends time with his wife and three young daughters. He enjoys outdoor activities, including golf and time on the water, alongside his family commitments and professional responsibilities at MLG.
