Conway Brings Endowment Experience to Wallace Foundation
Managing director supports manager selection, asset allocation and portfolio positioning
Signe Conway, managing director of investments at The Wallace Foundation, helps manage the foundation’s investment portfolio alongside its chief investment officer.
Since joining Wallace in 2022, Conway has been responsible for selecting and monitoring investment managers across asset classes and assisting with asset allocation and portfolio positioning.
The New York-based foundation is an independent, national philanthropy representing the philanthropic legacy of DeWitt and Lila Acheson Wallace, founders of Reader’s Digest in 1922. Its mission is to help all communities build a more vibrant and just future by fostering advances in the arts, education leadership, and youth development.
Conway now works with a new investment chief. Sophia Tsai became The Wallace Foundation’s chief investment officer effective March 2, 2026, overseeing the foundation’s investment strategy and portfolio construction in managing its $1.8 billion endowment.
Before joining Wallace, Conway helped manage the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s $5 billion endowment. She began her career in the leveraged finance group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
She graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College with a bachelor’s degree in classical languages and literature and later earned an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Outside work, Conway is an avid fan of crime procedurals and has seen every episode of “Law & Order.”
