Carranza Brings Client-First Planning to Alternative Investments
Regional director draws on lending, procurement experience to simplify complex client situations
Quinn Carranza approaches alternative investments through a client’s full financial picture, connecting complex assets and financing arrangements with the same planning process he applies to conventional investments.
As a regional director at Falcon Wealth Planning, Carranza draws on experience in commercial lending, wealth management and corporate procurement. That background informs his work with clients whose finances include business ownership, real estate, concentrated equity positions or unconventional income.
His approach begins with explaining why a strategy may be relevant. He translates private credit, illiquid holdings and nontraditional financing into understandable trade-offs, helping clients compare those options with conventional approaches.
Rather than introducing alternatives as a separate product discussion, Carranza incorporates them when a client’s circumstances warrant consideration. The emphasis is on understanding how an investment structure fits the client’s balance sheet, objectives and broader plan.
That focus on clarity also shapes his regional leadership. Carranza identified a need for a repeatable way to explain Falcon’s client-first, retainer-based planning model to prospective clients.
He developed accessible client-facing frameworks that break down complex planning concepts and explain the value of ongoing advice. The approach supports client acquisition and service delivery across his region, giving advisors a more consistent foundation for discussing the firm’s services.
Falcon named Carranza to its 2025 Circle of Champions, an internal distinction recognizing top performers in client acquisition and overall business results.
His work also addresses the tension between financial analysis and personal objectives. Clients may face decisions involving a business sale, concentrated holdings or changing market conditions while balancing family priorities and concerns.
Carranza uses a deliberate process to simplify those decisions, drawing on his experience across lending and planning to explain the available choices. The goal is to help clients act with a clearer understanding of the reasoning behind a recommendation.
Beyond his own client relationships, he contributes to the professional development of advisors across his region, emphasizing client-centered planning and communication.
Carranza has maintained the certified financial planner designation since 2020. He also advocates for Falcon’s compensation model: As a salaried, fee-only advisor, he receives no compensation tied to product sales.
That arrangement removes a product-sales incentive from his recommendations. His stated philosophy is that alternative strategies should be evaluated according to client fit, with clear explanations of both their purpose and their trade-offs.
For Carranza, improving alternatives advice depends on the delivery of that advice as much as the investment itself. His work combines technical knowledge, accessible communication and a compensation structure designed to support recommendations grounded in client objectives.
The same principles guide his regional responsibilities: helping advisors explain their services, develop relationships and make complex financial decisions easier for clients to evaluate. Together, those efforts connect individual planning with the firm’s broader growth and service goals.
