William Fleming
Played key role in creating Financial Planning Group for Cambridge Trust
Member of New Hampshire Estate Planning Council
William Fleming is VP and Manager of the Financial Planning Group for Cambridge Trust Wealth Management, a Division of Eastern Bank, and the largest bank-owned investment advisor in Massachusetts with approximately $8.3 billion in assets under management. When he joined Cambridge Trust in 2021 and before it merged with Eastern Bank in 2024, the Financial Planning Group did not exist. Through 2022 and 2023, he played a key role in creating the Financial Planning Group, defining its processes, procedures, best practices and marketing approach to deliver an excellent experience, and he was promoted in 2024 to oversee the group. Financial Planning is a critical component of Cambridge Trust Wealth Management’s client offering.
A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER since 2015 and a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor since 2023, Wil utilizes his skillset to bring security and prosperity to families and businesses through a thoughtful understanding of their needs and aspirations. Building the Financial Planning Group he now oversees is his greatest career accomplishment thus far.
Originally from New York, he moved to New Hampshire in 2019 and applies his Wealth Management background to benefit the community where he lives in a state with beneficial Trust planning advantages. He is a member of the New Hampshire Estate Planning Council and shares best practices with other members. He also contributes to the community quietly without fanfare, regularly helping older neighbors in their densely wooded area by removing trees to lessen the frequency of power outages. He also looks to share his passion for the outdoors with younger children around the same age as his own.
Since joining Cambridge Trust Wealth Management, he has steadily grown and advanced his career. If he could leave one mark on the industry it would be to serve as a role model and inspiration for talent development, mentorship, and professional growth initiatives.
His influence upon others serves as inspiration to peers & colleagues. It sets an example for up-and-coming professionals, showing that hard work, innovation, and client dedication are recognized and rewarded. His success boosts team morale and encourages a culture of excellence at all organizations. Clients appreciate working with a recognized professional, reinforcing trust and confidence in financial advice.
Being recognized as a rising star provides Wil with enhanced credibility and reputation, establishing him as a leader in the field (something we already know!). Award winners often benefit from new doors opening in the sector, such as gaining access to events and networking opportunities, and new opportunities for collaboration and mentorship, as well as invitations to speak at conferences, contribute to industry discussions and author thought leadership. Clients often value this kind of honor and enjoy working with advisors of good repute.
These are just a few reasons William Fleming was chosen as a recipient of Connect Money’s 2025 Next Generation Wealth Management Award. Now in its second year, the Next Generation Awards honor emerging leaders who are poised to significantly shape the future of the wealth management industry.
