Mercer Advisors Expands New England Reach with Charter Oak Deal

Mercer Global Advisors, Inc. has acquired Charter Oak Capital Management, a Portsmouth, New Hampshire–based RIA overseeing more than $1.5 billion in assets, further expanding its footprint across New England.

The deal enhances Mercer’s presence in New Hampshire while deepening its reach across Massachusetts and Maine, as the firm continues to scale its national platform through targeted acquisitions. Founded in 2002, Charter Oak is led by partners Emma Bean, Todd Cesca, Sarah Serling, Jeffrey Troiano, Lena Wyand and Karen Zaramba, and provides integrated investment management alongside tax and estate planning services.

“This partnership enhances our regional depth while reinforcing our long-term strategy of aligning with culturally strong, growth-oriented firms that share our client-first philosophy,” said Dave Welling.

Charter Oak clients will gain access to Mercer’s broader family office offering, including tax preparation, advanced estate and trust planning and multigenerational wealth strategies, while maintaining the firm’s existing client relationships and service model.

“In Mercer Advisors, we found people who value relationships the same way we do,” said Jeff Troiano. “This partnership allows us to maintain the high-touch care our clients expect while expanding the depth and breadth of services available to them.”

The acquisition follows an active period for Denver-based Mercer Advisors, which in January acquired Long Run Wealth Advisors in New York($640 million). Prior to that the firm added McConnell Financial Advisors in Idaho ($130 million AUM), Thompson Advisory Services in Portland ($260 million AUM), and Glass Jacobson Wealth Advisors in Maryland (approximately $1 billion AUM).

Mercer Advisors oversees approximately $98 billion in assets and is backed by Oak Hill Capital, Genstar Capital and Altas Partners. Hue Partners served as financial advisor to Charter Oak.
