Mercer Advisors Picks Up $130M Women-Led Firm in Idaho
Mercer Global Advisors has acquired an Idaho-based financial planning firm, expanding the firm’s presence across the Mountain West region.
Boise, ID-based McConnell Financial Advisors, which oversees $130 million in total client assets, provides “comprehensive” financial planning and investment management services to high-net-worth clients, with an emphasis on serving women.
The firm, which adds to Mercer’s existing teams in Boise and in Sun Valley, California, uses its “Life by Design” approach to provide its clients with “long-term” financial alignment.
“A financial plan is more than just numbers, it’s the foundation for a life you’ll cherish,” Renée McConnell, CEO and founder of McConnell Financial Advisors, said. “I was looking for a partner that believed in doing the right thing for clients and understood that when you lead with purpose, success follows. Mercer Advisors stood out for its deep bench of planning expertise, strong culture and ability to help us scale our impact without losing what makes us special.”
McConnell Financial Advisors adds to Mercer’s broader Women & Wealth initiative, which aims to support women within the wealth management sector.
Through Mercer’s Women & Wealth initiative, the firm offers solutions for single women, widowers and business owners with tailored portfolio management, financial planning services, cash flow planning, and Healthcare planning.
Recently, Mercer acquired Portland, OR-based Thompson Advisory Services, which oversees about $260 million in client assets.
Denver-based Mercer Global Advisors is backed by a collective group of private equity firms, including Oak Hill Capital, Genstar Capital, and Altas Partners.
The firm manages about $90 billion in assets under management and operates across more than 100 locations.
