Fidelis Capital to Boost Private Market Offerings with Opto Investments
Fidelis Capital has partnered with Opto Investments, a private markets investment platform, to diversify its private market options for clients.
As part of the collaboration, Fidelis Capital will incorporate Opto’s offerings to deliver “actively managed private markets vintage funds to the multi-generational families, entrepreneurs, and institutions,” Fidelis said.
As more firms increase their private market exposure to their tailored client base, Fedelis’ partnership with Opto will enable fund managers to strengthen their due diligence, deal sourcing, and “enhance” transparency across various asset classes.
“As private markets permeate the wealth management industry, manager selection becomes even more important,” Jake Miller, co-founder and chief solutions officer at Opto Investments, said. “Fidelis exemplifies a firm that shares our vision. It’s not about just giving clients access to private markets, but about delivering disciplined, diversified exposure.”
Last month, Opto partnered with Quotient Wealth Partners and TritonPoint Wealth to develop a series of customized private market funds that are designed to enhance diversification within client portfolios and streamline the full private investing lifecycle.
As clients’ wealth grows alongside their interest in asset allocation, financial advisors in the industry are reevaluating how to diversify and offer structured portfolios.
More than half of all advisors now invest in client assets in private markets. However, advisors remain concerned about liquidity and lack of confidence regarding private markets, according to a newly published survey from BlackRock.
About 68% of financial advisors have expressed the need for additional education on portfolio construction before increasing their private assets allocations.
“As high‑net‑worth wealth rises, advisors face a clear mandate – deliver more personalized, tax‑managed solutions,” Jaime Magyera, head of BlackRock’s U.S. wealth and retirement businesses, said. “Our research shows advisors are increasingly customizing model portfolios with SMAs and private markets to meet the complex needs of wealthy clients.”
In July, RIA Fi3 Advisors collaborated with Opto to roll out private markets capabilities for family offices and independent investment advisors to help create “customized” services for Fi3’s high-net-worth clients.
Tampa-based Fidelis Capital is an independent wealth management firm launched by former Wells Fargo and Bank of America advisors in 2022. Fidelis manages $2.2 billion in assets under management for 130 clients nationwide.
