Fi3 Advisors Team with Opto to Offer Private Marketing for FAs
Registered investment advisor Fi3 Advisors has collaborated with Opto Investments, a wealthtech platform, to roll out private markets capabilities for family offices and independent investment advisors.
The partnership will improve Fi3 Advisor’s private markets program by streamlining private investment workflows, establishing an annual vintage funds program and centralizing performance data for end-client reporting capabilities, to help create “customized” services for Fi3’s high-net-worth clients.
The collaboration aims to create an “operational experience” tailored to Fi3’s advisors and clients base, with a “single K-1, automated subdoc creation, digital signatures, and smooth integration” with its reporting software, Addepar, the company said.
Additionally, Opto Investment’s portfolio tools will contribute to strengthening Fi3’s capacity to combine private and public markets investments to optimize after-tax returns, while enabling its pacing solution for Fi3 advisors and clients to gain more access to private markets allocations over a certain period.
“A core part of our investment philosophy is meaningful integration of private markets, and Opto is helping us scale that thesis,” Nathan Kinney, director of investments at Fi3 Advisors, said. “Private markets investing has historically been resource-intensive for us, but Opto’s platform gives us cleaner data and smoother operations, allowing us to focus on what actually matters: helping our clients achieve better outcomes.”
Indianapolis-based Fi3 Advisors, manages about $1 billion in assets for around 130 families. Fi3’s private markets offerings typically represent 15% to 25% of client portfolios, the firm said.
In December, Opto launched its Planner tool, which simplifies long-term private markets investing by helping financial advisors to deem appropriate target private market allocations and develop an investment pacing strategy personalized to each client’s needs.
