Today, we feature Varun Marneni, EVP of CPC Advisors, an Atlanta, GA-based financial services company.
What are the nominee’s job duties/role?
Varun brings extensive expertise to CPC Advisors including wealth management, tax efficiency, estate planning, and risk management strategies. His passion lies in assisting business owners in maximizing their enterprise value and navigating succession planning.
What milestones, in and out of the organization, has the nominee achieved?
Varun has greatly contributed to CPC’s cumulative asset growth of 60% during his tenure. Forbes Magazine also recognized Varun as a Top Next Generation Wealth Advisor from 2017 through 2022. In 2023, Varun was listed on the top 40 under 40 by InvestmentNews.
Largely a result of his dedication, drive, and efforts, CPC was recently named as one of the “Best Places to Work” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle for 2022. He serves as a member of CPC’s investment committee, oversaw the firm’s expansion into Athens, GA, and spearheads CPC’s education and communication efforts.
In what areas of work has the nominee exceeded expectations?
Varun’s outstanding work has earned tremendous recognition over the years. From 2017 to 2023, Forbes featured Varun in their Top Next-Generation Advisors list. In 2019 and 2020, he was ranked as the No. 1 Financial Advisor in Georgia. Varun is also a sought-after industry speaker and regularly contributes to various publications. At CPC, Varun serves on the Executive and Investment committees.
How has the nominee reshaped the organization?
In 2014, Varun joined CPC Advisors in Atlanta, GA where he leveraged his talent for marketing and began an extensive training program. Varun soon achieved the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and began making a tremendous impact on CPC’s clients. In 2019, at 30, Varun became the youngest person to become an owner and shareholder at CPC Advisors. In 2022, he was promoted to EVP.
What role (if any) does the nominee play in the community?
Varun serves as co-chair of the Board at OurHouse, a non-profit organization dedicated to early childhood education and families experiencing homelessness. Through his leadership, Our House has raised approximately $4 million in revenues per year over the past six years and continues to provide important services to those in great need.
Varun’s dedication and willingness to make a difference have seen him take on an expanded role over the past six years, including ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to further the Our House mission; setting strategic goals, compensation and providing reviews to the CEO; and monitoring metrics to ensure family support strengthens annually, among others.
What is one aspect outside the organization that we should know about the nominee?
Varun has already established a career trademark of the highest levels of leadership, professionalism, and integrity. He moved to Orlando, FL from India at 13 and applied the very same hard work and determination that enabled his family to thrive on their native soil.
After joining Raymond James as a recruiter, Varun climbed the ranks to obtain the #1 spot out of many people that hold the position for the multimillion-dollar, multinational financial services corporation. After solidly achieving this goal, Varun continued in his pursuit of learning and helping others.
