Next Generation: Wealth Management Profile – Paolo Barbone 

Connect Money presents our inaugural Next Gen Wealth Management series. Throughout the past several months, we asked professionals in the wealth management industry to nominate those who have made an impact both in and out of the office, whether through efforts to reshape the organization or community outreach.  

Today, we feature Paolo Barbone, research analyst and manager at Chicago Capital, LLC., a registered investment advisory firm. 

What are the nominee’s job duties/role? 

Research analyst and manager of the firm’s Internship Program, consisting of both college and our partnership with Rock the Street Wall Street for high school students. 

What milestones, in and out of the organization, has the nominee achieved? 

Paolo has been in the investment business since 2013. He joined Chicago Capital in 2020. Paolo has implemented various analytics tools to streamline monitoring of existing and potential investments. 

In what areas of work has the nominee exceeded expectations? 

Paolo’s work with data analytics has led to more efficient means of tracking fundamentals and valuation levels of our equity holdings. 

How has the nominee reshaped the organization? 

Paolo manages the summer intern program at Chicago Capital. In this role he helps the interns add value to our business, while teaching them important skills intended to help them succeed in the business world. He has maintained relationships with many intern-alumni and helps them navigate as they pursue their careers. 

What role (if any) does the nominee play in the community? 

Paolo is active with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business alumni group. 

What is one aspect outside the organization that we should know about the nominee? 

Paolo is a dual citizen and grew up overseas. Family is very important to him.

About Joe Palmisano

Joe Palmisano is Editorial Director for Connect Money, where he brings nearly three decades experience of market insights as a financial journalist, analyst and senior portfolio manager for leading financial publications, advisory firms, and hedge funds. In his role as Editorial Director, Joe is responsible for the selection of content and creation of daily business news covering the financial markets, including Alternative Assets, Direct Investment and Financial Advisory services. Joe parlayed his experience as a financial journalist into roles as a Senior Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager, writing daily and weekly market analysis and managing a FX and US equity portfolio. Joe was also a contributing writer for industry magazines and publications, including SFO Magazine and the CMT Association. Joe earned a B.S.B.A. in Finance from The American University. He holds the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
