After rounding out 2022 with 18 transactions, Denver-based Mercer Global Advisors has begun the new year where it left off, snapping up Roseville, CA-based Empyrion Wealth Management, a $250mn registered investment advisor (RIA).
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Empyrion is the 15th women-owned advisory firm that Mercer Advisors has acquired since 2016.
Founder and President of Empyrion Kimberly Foss, CFP®, CPWA® said, “Empyrion focuses on delivering the highest caliber financial advice to our clients, and we wanted to join a leading national RIA to add more scale and leverage capabilities to our team and clients.”
Founded in 1985, Denver-based Mercer has now added 73 firms since it began its buying spree in 2016, adding more than $37bn in assets.
Mercer is among the fastest growing RIAs in the nation. Most investments by private equity firms Oak Hill Capital and Genstar Capital have allowed Mercer to significantly ramp up its M&A activity in recent years.
