Maridea Expands Into Ohio With Dual Marietta Additions
Maridea Wealth Management has added two affiliated Ohio firms to its national platform, advancing a consolidation strategy that combines investment advice, financial planning, tax capabilities and insurance services under one organization.
River Cities Financial Services Ltd. and Dietz, Futrell & Walters Insurance Inc., both based in Marietta, establish Maridea’s first presence in Ohio. Financial terms of the transaction and the firms’ assets under management were not disclosed.
Founded in 1948, DFW Insurance operates as an independent insurance agency. River Cities Financial Services was created from that business in 1985 to provide wealth management, retirement, investment, financial and estate-planning services.
The firms serve individuals, families and business owners through offices in Marietta, Beverly and Chillicothe. Clients will continue working with the same local employees while gaining access to Maridea’s tax services, investment research and planning infrastructure.
Michael Anthony, president of River Cities and a DFW partner, will become a Maridea senior investment adviser and managing partner. Anthony has more than 20 years of wealth-planning and investment-advisory experience.
Dustin Becker, River Cities’ vice president and a DFW partner, will join Maridea as director of insurance. He has more than 24 years of property-and-casualty insurance experience.
“They’ve built a trusted, multigenerational business rooted in genuine community relationships,” Maridea founder and CEO Mier Wang said. She added that the firms’ integrated insurance and wealth-management model complements Maridea’s services.
Ten additional employees, including four investment advisers, will join Maridea alongside Anthony and Becker.
The expansion follows Maridea’s acquisition this month of New Britain, Pennsylvania-based Pultro Financial Management, which manages about $217 million, and its August purchase of Chicago-based Park Ridge Financial.
New York-based Maridea oversees approximately $2 billion. The firm sold a stake to 119th Street Capital and Pelican Capital in May to support acquisitions, partnerships and national expansion.
