Elevation Point Invests in Michigan RIA
Elevation Point, a wealth management firm and growth accelerator for independent advisors, announced a strategic minority stake investment in Fortage Capital Advisors, a newly launched registered investment advisor based in Bloomfield Hills, MI.
This investment follows Elevation Point’s minority stake in Triton Wealth, a $225 million Aitkin, MN-based registered investment advisor, and a stake in Stonebrook Private, a fee-only, fiduciary advisory firm based in Northville, MI with over $750 million in assets under management, reflecting an active year for partnerships with breakaway wirehouse teams and larger RIAs.
Fortage Capital Advisors was founded by industry veteran Andrew Moss. The firm specializes in investment management and financial advice. Moss, who spent 25 years at Merrill Lynch starting in 1994 and five years as a partner at Transcend Capital Advisors, launched Fortage in 2025 with colleagues Matthew Harbarcuk (Director) and Carrie Angott (Client Service Associate), who joined him from Transcend in 2020.
The firm’s client asset figure was not disclosed, but Moss is noted as a multi-million-dollar producer with long-standing client relationships spanning 15 to 20 years.
Minneapolis-based Elevation Point provides Fortage with innovative tools, infrastructure, and proprietary private market investment options to enhance service offerings and drive growth. The partnership alleviates back- and middle-office burdens, allowing Fortage to focus on customized client solutions.
Elevation Point’s model emphasizes advisor independence, offering minority stakes while providing access to Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) solutions, technology, and support. CEO Jim Dickson, a former Merrill Lynch executive and Sanctuary Wealth founder, highlighted his long-standing professional relationship with Moss, noting the quality of Fortage’s practice and client relationships as key drivers for the partnership.
Elevation Point, launched in 2024 by Dickson and Mark Penske, founder and chairman of United Atlantic Capital, oversees more than $3.4 billion in assets under management.
