Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Closes $3B Growth Markets Fund
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has closed its second Growth Markets Fund with approximately $3 billion in commitments, extending a fundraising cycle that has brought the energy-infrastructure manager more than €16 billion across three major strategies since early 2025.
Growth Markets Fund II, including associated vehicles, is nearly three times the size of its $1 billion predecessor. The strategy targets greenfield energy infrastructure in 15 middle-income markets across Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, according to CIP.
The fund has committed $1.6 billion across nine investments and is expected to be fully deployed within one to two years. Projects include Chile’s largest standalone battery installation, solar and storage developments in Mexico, and the Pestera II onshore wind project in Romania.
“Reaching a $3 billion final close and tripling the fund size compared to our predecessor fund is a strong validation of our Growth Markets strategy,” said Niels Holst, partner and co-head of Growth Markets Funds.
Investors include pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, development-finance institutions and impact-focused family offices.
The close follows CIP’s €12.3 billion raise for Copenhagen Infrastructure V in March 2025. The flagship fund invests in large-scale wind, solar and energy-storage projects across lower-risk developed markets. The Montana Board of Investments earmarked €75 million ($83.3 million) for the fund in September 2024.
In March 2026, CIP also raised €1.3 billion at the first close of Green Credit Fund II, targeting €2 billion for senior secured energy-transition lending.
Founded in 2012, CIP manages 15 funds and has raised approximately €43 billion from more than 200 institutional investors. Its first Growth Markets Fund is expected to deliver 8.7 gigawatts across more than 50 projects in India and South Africa.
