Savant Wealth Management Receives Minority Stake from Hamilton Lane, Cynosure Partners
Savant Wealth Management has secured $270 million in capital from private markets solutions provider Hamilton Lane and alternative asset manager Cynosure Partners, providing a liquidity option to Cynosure’s original partners.
The minority investment from Cynosure allows the firm to remain invested in Savant through a continuation vehicle.
Hamilton Lane was the sole investor in the continuation vehicle for Cynosure.
Another investor, Kelso & Company, a middle-market private equity firm, will remain as a minority investor, while Savant employees will remain the largest shareholder group, the RIA stated.
Cynosure’s latest investment in Savant comes nearly 10 years following its initial investment of $17 million in Savant.
“It is difficult to find private investors that are truly long-term oriented and supportive of employee-owned organizations,” Brent Brodeski, CEO and founder of Savant, said. “Savant is over 25x larger today than it was when Cynosure invested ten years ago, and we believe we are still in the early innings.”
In May, Savant Wealth Management acquired Beaverton, OR-based North Ridge Wealth Advisors and Walnut Creek, CA-based Desmond Wealth Management, bringing a combined $371 million in assets under management to the registered investment advisory firm.
Cynosure Partners is also a minority equity investor in RIA Steward Partners, which was initially made in 2019.
Hamilton Lane has roughly $1 trillion in assets under management and supervision, composed of $141.8 billion in discretionary assets and $905.3 billion in non-discretionary assets, as of March 31, and operates across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East.
Rockford, Ill-based Savant Wealth Management manages about $55.7 billion in assets under management and $1.5 billion in assets under advisement, as of June 30.
