Investment Powerhouses Join Forces Spanning Public, Private Markets Access
Investment powerhouses Wellington Management, Vanguard, and Blackstone are collaborating to create multi-asset investment solutions that span public and private markets. The partnership leverages Wellington’s active management expertise, Vanguard’s leadership in low-cost index and actively managed funds, and Blackstone’s dominance in private markets, including private equity and infrastructure. Together, the firms manage approximately $12 trillion in assets—Wellington with $1.3 trillion, Vanguard with $9.3 trillion, and Blackstone with $1.1 trillion.
The initiative aims to deliver institutional-quality portfolios to individual investors and their advisors, with further details to be revealed in the coming months. Jean M. Hynes, CEO of Wellington Management, emphasized that the collaboration combines their investment expertise and trusted brands to offer comprehensive, accessible solutions. Vanguard president Greg Davis noted the partnership’s potential to redefine how investors access both public and private markets.
This move reflects a broader trend of traditional and alternative asset managers joining forces to bring private market opportunities to retail investors. Notable examples include State Street’s ETF with Apollo Global Management, BlackRock’s model portfolios with Partners Group, and KKR’s private-public solutions with Capital Group.
