WidsomTree Takes Minority Equity Stake in Tech Platform Quorus
WisdomTree has announced it will offer “tax-efficient” SMAs through its multi-year partnership with tech-based asset manager Quorus.
The collaboration will enable Quorus to incorporate investment strategies provided by WisdomTree, which has a minority equity stake in the company since June, and will be available on Quorus’ platform, as the asset manager seeks to diversify its portfolio offerings and expand its reach within the SMA market.
Recently, the startup has raised about $4.6 million in an equity seed funding round, which was part of an offering totaling roughly $5 million from about four investors, according to Form D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Financial advisors will be able to use WisdomTree model portfolios with integrated trading with no additional platform, trading, or rebalancing costs. Additionally, registered investment advisors will be able to use various strategies through Charles Schwab’s marketplace, the asset manager said.
“Tax-Efficient SMAs are among the fastest-growing investment vehicles, and this investment positions WisdomTree to tap into this high-demand market segment,” Thomas Skrobe, head of portfolio solutions at WisdomTree, said. “Through Quorus’ innovative platform, we are expanding our reach to advisors who use SMAs. Most importantly, we’re expanding our Portfolio Solutions platform to offer advisors multiple ways to evolve and manage their portfolios to best meet their clients’ investing needs.”
Quorus, a New York City-based tech asset manager platform, launched in 2022, delivers personalized tax-efficient investment solutions for asset managers and financial advisors.
WisdomTree has approximately $124.8 billion in assets under management, the firm said.
