- Sharda Cherwoo, a retired Ernst & Young senior partner, has been hired by Carlyle Group as an independent director of its Board of Directors and a member of the Audit Committee of the Board, effective June 1, 2023. Most recently, she served as EY’s Americas intelligent automation leader and partner.
- Damian DiPippa has been named CEO of Renovus Capital Partners, a lower-middle-market PE firm focused on the knowledge and talent industries. Most recently, he was CEO of Arcfield. Prior to Arcfield, DiPippa was president of the systems engineering sector at Peraton.
- Leanne Schmitt has been added as a managing director by Star Mountain Capital LLC, an investment manager focused on private small and medium-sized North American businesses. Schmitt was most recently a managing director at Intech Investment Management.
- Patrick McDonald has been appointed as a managing director and financial advisor for Manhattan West, an LA-based wealth management and alternative investments firm. Previously, McDonald was a director at MAI Capital Management LLC and an associate in Goldman Sachs‘ executive counseling division.
- Sherry Gao was hired as CFO for Argosy Capital Group, a lower-middle-market private investment firm, to lead the finance, accounting and treasury functions. She joins Argosy from Centre Lane Partners, where she was CFO. Gao will report to CEO Sarah Roth.
- TA Associates, a global private equity firm, has made a strategic growth investment in Diatech Pharmacogenetics, a pharmacogenetics and cancer medicine diagnostics company. Minority investor Alto Partners will exit its stake in the business. Diatech’s founder and management will retain majority ownership.
- AaDya Security, a provider of cybersecurity software solutions for small and midsize businesses, raised a $5 million Series A round led by Left Lane Capital, with participation from current investors 645 Ventures, Firebrand Ventures, Gaingels and Invest Detroit.
- Vista Equity Partners, a global investment firm focused on enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses, has made an investment in Benchmark Gensuite, a software platform that looks to help companies transform their EHS, sustainability and ESG reporting programs.
- Replit, a creator of generative AI programs for software development, has raised $97.4 million led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Coatue, Cathie Wood’s Ark Ventures and Y Combinator.
- Authentic Brands Group has agreed to acquire a 75% stake in the intellectual property of clothing retailer Vince for $76.5 million in cash. CVC Capital Partners, HPS Investment Partners and Leonard Green & Partners are among Authentic Brands’ PE backers.
