  • Samantha Schackman has been named as director, business development for Gordon Brothers, a global advisory and investment firm. Schackman works with asset-based lending, investment banking and private equity professionals in the Northeast. She was previously director within the retail valuation practice at Gordon Brothers. 
  • Monica Yavin has been named chief people officer by private equity firm One Rock Capital Partners LLC responsible for leading all aspects of human resources. Yavin joins One Rock from First Eagle Investments where she was a senior HR business partner and head of learning and development. 
  • Peter Thiessen has been hired as managing director by Mertz Taggart, a healthcare services M&A firm, responsible for advising clients on strategic transactions, growth capital and exit strategy development. Thiessen has held senior positions at various healthcare companies, including Humana and Horizon Health 
  • Stephen Cheng has been named CEO of Wyre, a digital assets and payments infrastructure provider backed by Bolt Financial. Cheng has served as interim CEO since the start of 2023. Prior to that, he served as Wyre’s chief risk and compliance officer. Before joining Wyre in 2021, he was the chief compliance officer and BSA AML, officer at Prime Trust. 
  • Chris Storey has been promoted to president and CFO and Aaron Hencke to executive vice president and COO by Silver Creek Midstream LLC, a private midstream company that operates crude oil gathering, transportation and storage assets. Storey previously served as senior VP and CFO, while Hencke previously served as senior VP of operations. 
  • Dulce Martinez has been hired as head of client coverage for investment banking by Palm Tree, an M&A advisor. Prior to joining Palm Tree, Martinez was a managing director at Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth. She began her career at Morgan Stanley. 
  • Morgan LeConey was appointed managing director, head of US consumer and retail for Macquarie Capital, the corporate advisory, capital markets and investing arm of Macquarie Group. LeConey joins from Nomura, where he was managing director, global consumer products and retail group in the firm’s investment banking division. 
  • Investcorp, a global alternative investment firm, has acquired Shearer Supply, an independent distributor of HVAC equipment for residential and commercial properties in the southern US region. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 
  • Hunter Point Capital, an investment firm focused on providing capital services to alternative investment managers, has made an investment in Coller Capital, an independent investor focused on the private capital secondaries market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 
  • Energy Exploration Technologies, a clean-tech energy company, raised $50mn in Series B funding led by GM Ventures. Founded in 2018 and led by CEO Teague Egan, the company stores clean energy with direct lithium mining and refining technologies.
