- Gary Bachman and Kirk Kazanjian were appointed CFO and global CMO, respectively, by Axxes Capital, a private markets investment firm designed for financial advisors. Bachman was a former managing director and head of strategic initiatives at GQG Partners. Kazanjian was the former chief marketing officer for Capital Group‘s private client business.
- Bill Kohr was named US CEO of international investment bank DC Advisory. Former CEO Scott Wieler will be chairman of the board.
- Dan Pietrzak was promoted to global head of private credit by investment firm KKR. Pietrzak most recently served as co-head of private credit with Matthieu Boulanger, who is leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities. Pietrzak is co-president and chief investment officer for FS KKR Corp. and sits on the boards of FSK and several of KKR’s credit portfolio companies.
- Gautam Bhandari was named global CIO for I Squared Capital, an infrastructure investment manager. The appointment is part of additional changes to the firm’s management, with Mohamed Adel El-Gazzar and Harsh Agrawal named as senior partners and members of the Executive Committee.
- Dawn Capital led a $32mn Series A funding round for FlowX.AI, with participation from existing investors PortfoLion, SeedBlink and DayOne Capital. FlowX.AI is an application modernization platform leveraging AI to help enterprises modernize mission-critical applications.
- First Citizens Bank’s CIT Northbridge Credit provided $45mn to refinance and upsize a secured credit facility for Tubular Synergy Group, a sales, marketing and supply chain services distributor.
- Avidity Partners led a $50mn+ Series D funding round for biopharma company Quanta Therapeutics. The round brought the total to $142mn and saw participation from existing investors Sofinnova Investments, Vida Ventures, Surveyor Capital (a Citadel company), Longitude Capital, BVF Partners and AbbVie Ventures.
- Baird Capital made a growth investment in Freemarket, a fintech platform for B2B cross-border payments and currency exchange, through its Global Private Equity Fund. Financial details were not disclosed.
- Emergence Capital led a $16mn Series A round for Logik.io, with participation by new investor ServiceNow Ventures and existing investor Salesforce Ventures. Logik.io streamlines B2B buying experiences through product discovery, configuration, and recommendation engine. Santi Subotovsky, GP at Emergence, is joining Logik’s board of directors.
- Avenir led a $48 million Series C round for Episode Six, a fintech startup providing payment processing and digital ledger infrastructure for banks and companies. The round included participation by existing investor Anthos Capital.
