Walton, GoldenTree Partner to Expand Lot Banking, Tackle Housing Supply Gaps
Walton Global, a real estate investment and land asset manager, has formed a strategic partnership with GoldenTree Asset Management, an alternative credit-focused manager, to co-invest in lot banking transactions across high-growth U.S. markets. The collaboration will also accelerate Walton’s Finished Lot Program, a key element of its Builder Land Financing strategy.
GoldenTree’s commitment is aimed at easing U.S. housing supply challenges by backing land inventory strategies that enable homebuilders to develop in regions with strong demographic and employment trends. The partnership will focus capital deployment on areas with pronounced housing demand.
Walton has already completed six full-cycle communities and recently closed its 28th acquisition under the program. The firm maintains a robust pipeline, and the new capital from GoldenTree will allow Walton’s funds to co-invest and expand the program’s reach.
“Working with GoldenTree advances our objective of supporting our homebuilder clients in delivering high quality, much-needed housing to the market,” said Jordan McKenzie, EVP of finance and portfolio management at Walton Global.
Squire Patton Boggs served as legal counsel to Walton, with Cedar Porch Capital acting as advisor.
