Vestmark, BlackRock Join Forces to Enhance Custom Model Portfolios for RIAs

Vestmark, Inc., a wealth management software and services provider has partnered with BlackRock to enhance custom model portfolio solutions for registered investment advisors.

Combining Vestmark VAST’s tax management capabilities across equities, ETFs, separately managed accounts and alternatives with BlackRock’s custom model portfolio construction capabilities, the collaboration will allow financial advisors the flexibility to offer investment solutions personalized for tax management at scale.

BlackRock will offer its range of standard and RIA custom model portfolios, all managed and rebalanced, through Vestmark’s Manager Marketplace. Vestmark’s platform allows wealth managers to access and deploy a variety of investment strategies available.

Vestmark’s offering includes its Unified Managed Account platform that gives advisors access to implement mutual funds, ETFs, equity separately managed accounts, fixed-income SMAs, and alternatives within a single custodian account.

“Partnering with BlackRock underscores the trust and confidence that many of the industry’s leading firms have in Vestmark’s capabilities,” said Karl Roessner, CEO of Vestmark. “This collaboration strengthens our position as a prominent solution that combines advanced portfolio management with tax management capabilities.”

Headquartered in Wakefield, MA and founded in 2001, Vestmark supports six of the 10 largest managed account platforms in the industry, with $1.5 trillion in assets flowing through its platform. More than 65,000 advisors supported by Vestmark technology have access to a model marketplace with more than 1,200 strategies.

In March, Vestmark announced a partnership with Pensionmark Financial Group, the financial services division of World Insurance Associates LLC, to deliver personalized, multi-asset investment portfolios and tax management services to financial advisors and clients. That same month, the company joined forces with global investment management firm Invesco to provide portfolio solutions to RIAs channels.

in recent years, model portfolios have become an ever-compelling solution for wealth manager and the trend of outsourcing portfolio construction is expected to continue to grow. Cerulli Associates projects that model portfolio assets will reach $2.9 trillion by 2026.
