Valor Equity Partners Notches $2.35B for 6th Growth Fund

Valor Equity Partners closed its latest flagship fund at $2.35 billion. Another $1 billion in pledges were received from Valor Siren Ventures II, a venture strategy, and the Valor Opportunity Fund, a later stage growth fund, increasing the total committed funding to $3.4 billion.

Valor Equity Partners VI was significantly oversubscribed from its $2 billion target and received firm support from existing and new limited partners, including multinational corporations, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, endowments, public pension plans and high net-worth investors.

Valor Equity Partners VI investors include Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, which allocated $75 million in the fund in 2022.

The $17.5 billion Chicago-based growth-focused private equity investment firm said its growth funds aim to identify and select high-growth, “pro-entropic” companies where the transition to a technology-enabled economy is an important accelerant. As in prior operational growth funds, Fund VI will continue to focus on businesses that Valor believes have achieved an inflection point in their ability to scale and are positioned to achieve their market, revenue, and operating goals.

“For over 25 years, we have been privileged to partner with visionary founders and innovative companies transforming their industries through disruptive technology and operational excellence,” said Valor founder, CEO and CIO Antonio J Gracias. “As we accelerate into the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we will continue to invest in these mission-oriented companies that are making our world better.”

Garcia served as director of Tesla from 2007 to 2021 and during his tenure he helped take the company public. SpaceX is one of Fund VI’s investments, along with WEKA, xAI, and Zipline.
