US Signal Expands Chicago Footprint with New Aurora Data Center
US Signal has acquired a new data center in Aurora, Illinois, extending its footprint in the greater Chicago market as demand continues to rise for high-performance colocation, cloud, and connectivity services. The acquisition and planned expansion are supported by continued investment from Igneo Infrastructure Partners, which has committed more than $200 million to support US Signal’s growth across data centers, fiber, and cloud infrastructure.
Following the acquisition, US Signal plans to execute an expansion that will increase capacity to 4 megawatts of critical power, or up to 6 megawatts on a commercial basis. The company will also immediately deploy cloud and virtualization services at the site.
“We’re investing immediately to expand capacity and will deliver OpenCloud at scale, giving customers in this market a local, enterprise-grade private cloud option backed by our national network and proven operational model,” said Daniel Watts, CEO of US Signal.
The facility is designed to support a broad range of use cases, including private and hybrid cloud virtualization, AI inference and other latency-sensitive workloads, enterprise and carrier colocation, and edge-oriented growth. The site will be fully connected via fiber, enabling seamless integration with US Signal’s broader network and cloud offerings.
