TJC Closes Largest PE Fund in 40-Year History

TJC LP, a veteran middle-market private equity firm formerly known as The Jordan Company, has closed the Resolute Fund VI, L.P. at $6.85 billion. The fund was oversubscribed and closed above its initial hard cap of $6 billion, well above the $5 billion it amassed for its fifth fund in 2021.

The firm said the fund would target “well-managed and profitable companies” with enterprise values ranging from $100 million to $2 billion, supporting strategies that drive operational improvements and organic growth and developing investments through add-on acquisitions.

“We will now utilize what will be our largest fund ever to continue to pursue opportunities in the U.S. middle market, building value where we invest while collaborating with strong management partners,” said Rich Caputo, chairman and chief executive partner of TJC.

The fund will invest in consumer & healthcare, diversified industrials, logistics & supply chain and technology & infrastructure.

Founded in 1982, New York-based TJC had nearly $29 billion in assets under management as of last September.

Latham and Watkins LLP served as legal counsel.
