Thryve Launches Independent RIA Following Spin-Out from Strive Asset Management

Thryve Wealth Management has launched as an independent registered investment advisor, marking its formal spin-out from Strive Asset Management. The Dallas-based firm begins operations with approximately $270 million in assets under management, aiming to combine institutional-caliber portfolio design with forward-looking investment themes.

Thryve’s investment philosophy centers on U.S. markets, which it views as offering structural advantages in innovation, governance, and resilience. The firm’s portfolios emphasize tax efficiency while integrating thematic growth opportunities, hedging strategies, and yield-enhancement techniques—particularly for clients holding large, concentrated positions in digital currencies, an increasingly mainstream asset class among high-net-worth investors.

“Investors seek diversification and innovation in their portfolios,” said Gary K. Dorfman, CEO of Thryve Wealth Management. “As the world evolves, so do our portfolios. Our approach focused on investing in the future will differentiate us in an industry where traditional modeled portfolios have become the accepted solution.”

In addition to organic growth, Thryve plans to expand through acquisitions, targeting like-minded RIA teams and advisors who share its client-first ethos. “Advisors will join Thryve as partners, becoming part of a purpose-driven team focused on the belief that the true measure of success is our clients’ success,” added Laura Brady, Chief Growth Officer. “Unlike private equity roll-up strategies that prioritize AUM growth, we are motivated by long-term value creation for the families we serve.”
