Tether, Fasanara Capital Launch $3B Stablecoin-Powered Private Credit Fund
Tether and London-based Fasanara Capital have launched StableFund, an evergreen private credit vehicle backed by $400 million in sponsor co-investment and designed to raise as much as $3 billion from outside institutional investors.
The fund will invest in short-duration, asset-backed credit opportunities sourced through Fasanara’s global fintech lending network. Its strategy will focus on financing for small and medium-sized businesses, consumers, trade receivables and supply-chain activity across more than 60 countries.
Fasanara will serve as investment manager, responsible for origination relationships, underwriting and capital deployment. Tether, issuer of the USD₮ stablecoin, will act as co-sponsor, originator and adviser, sourcing financing opportunities tied to USD₮ and providing the settlement infrastructure needed to move capital between traditional and digital-finance systems.
That infrastructure includes on- and off-ramp connectivity and treasury rails intended to streamline cross-border funding. The firms said the arrangement will embed USD₮ in lending flows through fintech platforms serving borrowers that may have limited access to conventional banking channels.
“Through this fund, Tether is playing the role it is best positioned to play, sourcing USD₮-linked financing opportunities and providing the stablecoin infrastructure that enables seamless cross-border lending,” Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said in a statement.
Fasanara CEO Francesco Filia said the partnership combines the manager’s underwriting and technology platform with Tether’s stablecoin network and access to crypto-native capital.
Fasanara manages more than $6 billion and is integrated with 141 fintech loan originators in over 60 countries.
