TCW Bolsters Alternative Credit Growth with $400M CLO Close
TCW Group announced the successful close of TCW CLO 2025-1, a $400 million collateralized loan obligation (CLO) fund. This transaction, secured primarily by broadly syndicated first-lien loans, marks TCW’s 14th CLO and reinforces its robust expansion in the alternative credit space.
The deal follows a strong 2024, during which TCW completed three new CLO issuances, two resets, and two refinancings, and continues this momentum into the first quarter with this new issuance, alongside two additional resets and one refinancing.
Los Angeles-based TCW has significantly scaled its alternative credit assets under management, more than doubling them since 2020. The firm now oversees approximately $6 billion in dedicated CLO assets, part of a broader $20 billion alternative credit portfolio that spans private credit, private asset-backed finance, CLO liabilities, and CLO AUM.
In 2024, TCW launched the TCW AAA CLO ETF (ACLO), providing investors access to AAA-rated CLOs through an exchange-traded fund—a move that complements its CLO offerings and broadens investor reach.
