Stratos Adds $400M Through RPI Acquisition
Stratos Wealth Enterprises has acquired RPI Financial Life Planners, adding approximately $400 million in assets under management and expanding the wealth company’s presence in the Midwest.
Naperville, Illinois-based RPI has operated for more than four decades, serving individuals, families, retirees and business owners. Its services include retirement and tax planning, estate-planning coordination, investment management and guidance during major life transitions.
RPI will retain its name, team and financial-planning approach while gaining access to Stratos’ technology, operational infrastructure and business-development resources. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“After an extensive, multiyear search, we chose to affiliate with Stratos because they share our commitment to putting clients first,” founder and financial life planner David Blaydes said.
The transaction is Stratos’ 12th partnership since SEI Investments agreed to take a controlling stake in the Beachwood, Ohio-based wealth platform in 2025. SEI completed the first stage of the investment in December, paying approximately $440.8 million for the U.S. business. A regulatory filing said SEI owns 57.5% of the holding company.
In May, Stratos completed acquisitions of 11 partner practices across seven states, representing approximately $4.8 billion in client assets as of Dec. 31. Those transactions included solo advisors and multi-advisor teams and were initiated before SEI’s investment.
Stratos Wealth Enterprises is the acquisition division of Stratos Wealth Holdings, whose businesses include Stratos Wealth Partners, Stratos Wealth Advisors and Stratos Investment Management.
