Stifel Plucks Three Former SVB Senior Managers to Lead Venture Lending Business
Stifel Financial Corp., the St. Louis, MO-based financial services giant, has added three senior managers formerly with Silicon Valley Bank. Jake Moseley, Matt Trotter and Ted Wilson will join Stifel as managing directors and immediately assume leadership roles in Stifel’s venture banking group. They will continue to be based in the San Francisco Bay area.
Moseley, Trotter, and Wilson will join Stifel veterans Brad Ellis and Nat Stone on a five-person operating committee, where they will focus on providing commercial banking and lending services to clients.
“Adding these talented new partners is yet another example of our commitment to growth companies, venture capital, and the entire innovation ecosystem,” said Stifel Chairman and CEO Ron Kruszewski. “Jake, Matt, and Ted represent the best in banking, and we are thrilled to have them at Stifel.”
Moseley was head of relationship management technology banking at SVB and was responsible for leading the relationships with SVB’s venture-backed and independent US technology companies.
Trotter previously worked at SVB as a senior market manager and head of frontier technologies, climate technology and sustainability.
Wilson has experience helping financial services and venture capital firms scale their businesses and was head of enterprise software at SVB.
