Starwood Strategic Partners Closes Investment in VANA Partners
Starwood Strategic Partners (SSP), an investment platform under Starwood Capital Group’s umbrella, has finalized a deal to invest in VANA Partners, a real estate platform focused on extended stay hotels. The tie-up gives VANA capital along with strategic input, including board seats and operational support. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The partnership backs SSP’s mission of supporting early to mid-stage real estate managers with growth potential. VANA, founded in 2022 by Dubi and Chuchu Ajukwu, brings expertise from institutions like The Related Companies, Tishman Speyer, Global Infrastructure Partners, Morgan Stanley, and J.P. Morgan.
“We are thrilled to partner with Starwood Capital, one of the leading hospitality investors in the world, to drive our firm’s growth and strategy,” said Dubi Ajukwu. “Their expertise and strategic support will be invaluable in helping us differentiate ourselves within the extended stay hotel segment.”
Bakari Adams, managing director at Starwood Capital and head of SSP, emphasized the strategic nature of the partnership and their commitment to backing institutionally minded firms.
Since its inception in 1991, Starwood Capital Group has raised over $80 billion of capital and currently has approximately $115 billion of assets under management.
