Standard Solar Buys Two Eastern Washington Solar Projects From OneEnergy

Standard Solar has acquired two ground-mounted solar projects in eastern Washington from OneEnergy Renewables, adding 15.79 megawatts of planned generating capacity and expanding its portfolio of distributed energy assets.

The acquisitions mark the companies’ first projects together in Washington. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Palouse Junction, located in Connell, will have 12.1 MW of direct-current capacity and is expected to generate approximately 22,339 megawatt-hours during its first year. Franklin Public Utility District will purchase power under a 10 MW alternating-current arrangement.

Cunningham, in Othello, will have 3.69 MW of direct-current capacity and projected first-year production of approximately 6,917 MWh. Big Bend Electric Cooperative will serve as the offtaker under a 3 MW alternating-current arrangement.

Both projects are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027. Their combined projected first-year generation totals 29,256 MWh.

“Rural utilities are essential partners in expanding access to clean energy,” said Eric Partyka, Standard Solar’s director of business development.

OneEnergy will remain the developer and engineering, procurement and construction provider for both installations.

The Rockville, Maryland-based company, a Brookfield portfolio business, owns and operates more than 500 MW of solar capacity across the United States.

Standard Solar said it is pursuing additional acquisitions in Washington and the Pacific Northwest.
