S&P Dow Jones Indices to Buy ARC Research
S&P Dow Jones Indices, a division of S&P Global, will be acquiring investment provider ARC Research, a subsidiary of ARC Group, to bolster its benchmark offerings.
This transaction will amplify S&P Dow Jones Indices’ abilities to provide “innovative and high-quality” benchmarks and data solutions customized to the growing demands of financial advisors, wealth managers, and private banks.
ARC Research, which partners with more than 190 investment managers and wealth advisors internationally, provides a wide range of performance benchmarks for wealth management firms that are seeking portfolio performance.
The acquisition will help drive ARC Group’s initiative of boosting its wealth indices and growing its financial advisory sector, which manages about $25 billion in assets for international charities and families, the company said.
“The acquisition of ARC Research represents a significant step in our commitment to serving the evolving needs of the wealth management industry,” Dan Draper, CEO of S&P Dow Jones Indices, said. “ARC Research’s expertise, high-integrity data, and trusted benchmarks are a natural fit with our global capabilities. Together, we aim to elevate transparency and benchmarking across wealth portfolios, enabling clients to make more informed decisions.”
The transaction is set to close in the third quarter of this year. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
International law firm Ashurst LLP served as the advisor for S&P Dow Jones for the acquisition.
