SL Green Receives $250M Anchor Investment for NYC RE Debt Fund
SL Green Realty Corp, the largest office landlord in Manhattan, has received a $250 million anchor commitment from a Canadian institutional investor for its SLG Opportunistic Debt Fund. The anchor investor is one of the world’s largest institutional investors and is responsible for managing public and parapublic pension plans and insurance programs, according to the firm.
The fund, which was established in 2024, is designed to take advantage of the current capital market dislocation by investing in high-quality commercial assets in New York City through structured debt. The fund’s strategy involves the acquisition of existing loans, the creation of new loans, the management of loan portfolios, and controlling CMBS securities.
“We look forward to deploying SL Green’s fully integrated platform and New York market expertise to capitalize on a robust pipeline of investment opportunities at attractive risk-adjusted returns,” said Harrison Sitomer, CIO at SL Green. “We appreciate our anchor partner’s support and are excited to welcome additional best-in-class investors to the fund in the coming weeks.”
SL Green Realty Corp. is a fully integrated real estate investment trust. The firm held interests in 55 buildings totaling 31.8 million square feet as of September 30, including ownership interests in 28.1 million square feet of Manhattan buildings and 2.8 million square feet securing debt and preferred equity investments.
