Sixth Street, Lloyds Ink Partnership to Fund UK CRE

Sixth Street announced a co-operative agreement with Lloyds to provide funding for the United Kingdom’s commercial real estate sector. The agreement will deploy Sixth Street’s global asset-based finance platform to deliver financing solutions for UK property borrowers.

The tie-up builds on Sixth Street’s expanding footprint in UK real estate. The firm has been active across the country’s property market in recent years, including a roughly $472 million recapitalization of a 37-property industrial portfolio owned by Clipstone Industrial REIT, a growth equity investment in UK assisted-living operator LNT, and a push into single-let industrial assets in undersupplied commercial hubs across the country.

The Lloyds partnership adds to a broader trend of banks partnering with alternative asset managers to expand commercial real estate lending capacity, as institutions increasingly team with private credit firms to serve borrowers amid tighter traditional bank lending standards.

Sixth Street is a global investment firm with more than $140 billion in assets under management and committed capital, spanning platforms including private equity, growth investing, direct lending, infrastructure, and real estate.
