SEC Establishes Crypto Task Force
Acting U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Mark Uyeda has announced the creation of a crypto task force to establish a clear regulatory framework for digital assets. Commissioner Hester Peirce, known for her pro-crypto stance, will lead the initiative, supported by senior advisors Richard Gabbert (Chief of Staff) and Taylor Asher (Chief Policy Advisor).
The task force’s focus will be to help the Commission on regulatory clarity, registration pathways, disclosure standards, and enforcement efforts. It will also work within the legislative framework established by Congress and actively engage with federal departments and agencies, including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), state authorities and international partners.
“This undertaking will take time, patience, and much hard work. It will succeed only if the Task Force has input from a wide range of investors, industry participants, academics, and other interested parties,” said Acting Commissioner Peirce. “We look forward to working hand-in-hand with the public to foster a regulatory environment that protects investors, facilitates capital formation, fosters market integrity, and supports innovation.”
The agency accepts public input at [email protected].
