RXR, Liberty Mutual Investments Forge $1B Credit Deployment Plan

RXR and Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI), the investment arm of Liberty Mutual Group, have expanded their long-term strategic relationship to target $1 billion in credit deployments across the capital stack, including senior loans, subordinate financing, construction loans, and flexible preferred equity.

As part of the expansion, LMI is serving as the lead investor in RXR’s $250 million investment-grade corporate bond financing, joined by New York Life. The bond is backed by diversified revenue streams from RXR’s property management, asset management, development, and credit businesses.

The partnership will prioritize financing for multifamily assets nationwide, with strategies spanning gap financing, construction lending, and platform or portfolio-level financing. The collaboration builds on a relationship first established in 2010.

“The market is undergoing a significant evolution, creating some of the most compelling opportunities we’ve seen in years,” said Scott Rechler, RXR chair and CEO. “With a wave of low-interest loans maturing, we’re well-positioned to step in and deliver strong, risk-adjusted returns for our investors.”

Headquartered in New York, RXR manages 109 commercial real estate properties and investments with a combined gross asset value of roughly $16.6 billion.
