RQD* Clearing Secures $74M Bain-Led Investment

RQD* Clearing has secured a $74 million minority growth investment led by Bain Capital Tech Opportunities, giving the financial infrastructure provider additional capital to expand internationally and develop products for digital and traditional securities.

ABN AMRO Clearing Bank and financial technology investor Nyca Partners also participated in the transaction. Financial terms beyond the investment amount and minority ownership structure were not disclosed.

New York-based RQD* provides clearing and custody infrastructure that connects broker-dealers, registered investment advisers and foreign financial institutions with U.S. markets. Its proprietary platform gives clients real-time access to account and transaction data, reducing their reliance on the batch files, disconnected systems and manual processes common in post-trade operations.

The firm said it processed more than 543 million ledger transactions during 2026 through the announcement date. It also cleared about 515 million equity transactions covering 69.5 billion shares and nearly $2 trillion in notional value, equal to approximately 2.43% of the National Market System equities market.

RQD* cleared nearly 64.8 million options contracts during the same period, representing $120.7 billion in premiums and $3.93 trillion in notional value.

The investment will help RQD* expand across North America, Asia and the Middle East while developing custody infrastructure for tokenized and other digital assets. The company also supports extended-hours trading that provides access to U.S. equities 24 hours a day, five days a week.

“Financial institutions should not have to choose between the technology and agility of a fintech and the market-structure expertise, risk management and infrastructure of an institutional clearing firm,” CEO Michael Sanocki said.

Bain joins an investor group that includes ABN AMRO, Nyca, Gentree Fund and Belvedere Strategic Capital.
