Rockefeller Nabs $878M Financial Advisory Team
Rockefeller Global Family Office, the wealth management unit of Rockefeller Capital Management, announced that private wealth advisors Angela Mwanza and Jordan Powell, and their four-person team, Oryx Legacy Partners, have joined the firm.
Oryx Legacy Partners is led by Mwanza, a 15-year UBS veteran who co-founded the bank’s Evergreen Wealth Management, and Jordan Powell, who started in the industry over 17 years ago, according to the firm.
The team managed $878 million as of April while at UBS, according to Forbes.
Mwanza’s earlier career includes time at Lehman Brothers Private Investment Management, Fleet Private Client Services and J.P. Morgan Private Bank. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Jumia, a for profit e-commerce platform operating in Africa, and is also on the Board of Directors of Summit Junto, LLC.
Prior to joining Rockefeller, Powell served as a vice president in global equities, commodities and derivatives at BNP Paribas.
Mwanza and Powell are joined by private advisor Mimi Kuo-Chin Shih, wealth managers Wenyi “Jason” Wang and Przemyslaw “Shem” Filipek, and senior client associate Allissa Purkey.
“Angela and her team are widely recognized as being among the industry’s leading purpose-driven wealth management professionals, and we are pleased to welcome them to Rockefeller,” said Christopher Dupuy, Co-President of Rockefeller Global Family Office.
Earlier this year, Rockefeller added San Francisco-based Marchetti Porter Wealth Partners with $1 billion in client assets and $2.3 billion Liberty Wealth Partners.
Rockefeller managed more than $100 billion in client assets across its three businesses, Rockefeller Global Family Office, Rockefeller Asset Management and Rockefeller Strategic Advisory, as of the end of March.
