Hybrid registered investment advisory firm RFG Advisory has added a five-person firm, which manages over $200 million in total client assets.

Alpharetta, GA-based Black Oak Asset Management, which joined RFG Advisory on March 2, provides “comprehensive” financial planning, investment management, and retirement planning strategies for high-net-worth clients, according to the firm’s website. 

The firm, which is led by president and financial advisor Ryan Ladden, also includes advisors Nick Morgan, Autumn Mower, Damon Gibbs, and Rick Howard. The team is supported by project manager and advisor support Andrea Roche, and client service associate Chloe Miller. 

“From the beginning, our priority was finding a partner that could elevate how we deliver for clients without changing who we are,” Ledden said. “RFG provides the scale, execution and strategic support we need to continue growing while staying true to our values and maintaining the independence that matters to both our team and our clients.” 

Ledden also noted that Black Oak joined RFG Advisory because of its technology offerings, operations, “institutional-quality” investment management, and access to client service and marketing. 

In November, RFG Advisory partnered with Syntax Data, a fintech provider, to expand its investment solutions on RFG’s model marketplace. Through the partnership, RFG advisors will gain access to a suite of single-name equity portfolios.  

Birmingham, AL-based RFG Advisory oversees approximately $6.1 billion in assets under management across 23,999 accounts, according to its latest Form ADV updated in March.
