Slate Asset Management, an alternative assets platform with a strong focus on real assets, has announced six partner and managing director promotions, effective January 1, 2023.

Jerry Cain, with more than 15 years’ experience in capital raising, has been promoted to Partner. Prior to joining Slate, Cain supported the firm’s capital raising efforts in an advisory role.

The remaining five members of the Slate team were promoted to Managing Director, including Brendan Shanahan, who joined the company in 2021 and oversees the firm’s debt investment origination and execution in the US Midwest and Western regions.

Connor O’Brien joined Slate in 2012 and is responsible for overseeing the origination and execution of acquisitions and dispositions, with extensive real estate investment experience.

Katie Fong joined in 2014 and leads the Canadian Private Real Estate team.

Marc-André Flageole was hired in 2022 as Global Portfolio Manager & Head of Investments for Presima, Slate’s boutique asset manager focused on global real estate securities.

Molly Mahoney joined Slate in 2020 and is responsible for capital raising and marketing alternative products and services to the firm’s investor relations function.

Slate’s platform has a range of real estate and infrastructure investment strategies, including opportunistic, value add, core plus and debt.
