Orion Founder, CEO Clarke to Step Down at End of Year
Orion Advisor Solutions, a turnkey asset management provider, announced that Eric Clarke, founder and CEO, plans to retire at the end of the year. Clarke will continue to serve on Orion’s Board and will work on a “smooth leadership transition.”
Clarke’s retirement comes just one week after Orion appointed Charles Goldman as executive chair of its board of directors. Goldman, the previous CEO of AssetMark, will lead the hunt for a new CEO at the firm. He joined Orion’s board in September and is also a member of private equity firm Genstar Capital’s strategic advisory board. Orion is jointly backed by Genstar and TA Associates.
“Eric has been instrumental in advancing the RIA industry, powering advisors’ success and shaping and bringing to life Orion’s vision to connect the advisor-client journey,” the company said.
Founded in 1999 by Clarke, the Omaha, NB-based firm has $3.6 trillion in assets under administration and nearly $62 billion of wealth management platform assets.
