Opto Rolls Out New RIA Tools, Promotes Co-Founders

Opto Investments, a wealthtech platform for private markets, has promoted co-founders Jake Miller and Matt Reed to chief solutions officer and chief technology officer, respectively, as the company launches new tools for investment managers.

The firm said the platform provides access opportunities across private credit, private equity, real estate and venture capital. It maintains tailored solutions based on the needs of the RIA market, which is increasingly demanding alternative investment strategies offered by investment managers looking to raise additional capital.

Miller has been a key figure of Opto’s leadership team since the firm’s inception in 2020. He will be in charge of driving projects to strengthen Opto’s RIA partnerships and introducing institutional-quality investment approaches and programs to the platform.

Reed has over 14 years of experience developing financial advisory software, including positions at Addepar and Strategic Global Advisors. He will be responsible for the development and operation of Opto’s proprietary technology stack.

Three new offerings were also recently launched. A CIO toolkit will assist managers in analyzing their client roster and demographics. Another tool allows advisors to establish a single, completely customized and white-labeled fund comprised of multiple underlying funds.

The third add-on is pre-trade analysis tool that uses proprietary modeling to help market assumptions, pacing strategies, cash flow and liquidity projections.

“Much like our prior innovations, these enhancements focus on automation and integrating seamlessly with existing systems,” Reed said. “Opto sees a tremendous opportunity to empower investment decisionmakers with the data, tools, and confidence to unlock the potential of private markets.”

Some of Opto’s competitors among alternative investment platforms, including iCapital, CAIS, GLASFunds and Subscribe, also offer white-label fund services.

NY-based Opto is backed by 8VC, Fin Capital, and Michael Dell’s DFO Management.
